Ethylene Polymerization Gas-phase Process
SCG-5 catalyst is a chromium based polyethylene dry powder catalyst for the Univation manufacturing process. It is a special chromium compound deposited on dehydrated silicon oxide with a catalyst activity of 4000 to 6000 KgPE/Kgcat. requires the use of a reducing agent and a number of additives to obtain a high activity component. This catalyst series is based on methylsilyl chromates and is used for the production of polyethylene with a wide range of molecular weight (MW) distribution. The catalyst is intended to replace the imported UCAT-G(S-2) catalyst for the production of HDPE with a wide molecular weight distribution (MFR = 75-150). In practice, it is mainly used for the production of blow-moulded polyethylene products such as shipping containers, large containers and gas tanks.
